First wash the piece of jewellery. This can quite easily be done with the following mixture. Find a small clean jar. Fill it with a third each of water, cloudy ammonia and normal dishwashing liquid. Next put the plug in the sink and run a little warm water. Dip the jewellery into the sink water and then dip a soft child's tooth brush into the jar of solution. Proceed to wash the jewellery. When the piece has been cleaned of any surface grease and dirt, rinse it under some clean water and empty the sink. Reseal the solution jar and store. You may continue to use the solution until it is very dirty.

Gently dry the piece with a clean towel. When the jewellery is completely dry, begin polishing with a soft rubbing action with the Lily Shine polishing cloth. When you are satisfied with the finish, fold the cloth up and return it to it's resealable bag. DO NOT WASH THE CLOTH! These quality cloths are made in Japan and are impregnated with polishing agent, which will be lost if washed. You can continue to use the cloth until it is very dirty, then dispose of it thoughtfully.
